Another phone from Nokia aimed at the style conscious higher end of the market. The 8600 Luna is all about smoked glass and stainless steel yet it's not a coffee table.
Substantial or heavy?
Weighing in at 140g some would say that this is a heavy phone others would say it feels substantial, you'll have to make your own mind up. The smoked glass cover which slides over the lower keypad is responsible for a significant chunk of the additional weight, as is the stainless steel chassis.
The screen has the familiar resolution of 240 x 320 pixels with the ability to display 16 million colours. The UI is instantly recognisable as Nokia.
Other features are run of the mill these days with an adequate 2 megapixel camera, media player and FM radio. Web browsing is handled by the xHTML browser over GPRS.
Let Downs
The keyboard quality doesn't match that of the rest of the phone. The Nokia 8600 Luna has no memory card either so you're stuck with the 128 MB internal memory which is pretty poor by today's standards.
In Summary
A classic case of style over substance. This is not necessarily a bad thing if you are a technophobe but that makes the price look a bit steep on PAYG or sim free.
