The Nokia E65 could be considered light weight considering that it incorporates some of the currently most desirable features. If you want a stylish yet functional slider phone then you should include the E65 on your first draft list.
Style
Until recently Nokia has avoided th size 0 trend for super thin phones. This phone though is only 15.5mm thick which is svelte for a slider. When closed the front is dominated by the clear, bright 240 x 320 pixel screen complimented by the metallic surround. Below are the main and soft keys centered around the five-way Nokia NaviTM key.
Slide the top section up to reveal the keypad. The slide mechanism of the E65 feels smooth yet quite robust. The keyboard is nice looking, well laid out with good sized keys.
What Can It Do?
With it's quad-band capability this is a world wide phone. You also get integrated Wi-Fi access where available including VoIP - Voice Over IP. Local connectivity can also be handled by IrDa, Bluetooth or Pop-Port Cable. The Nokia PC Suite makes sure synchronisation is straight forward. Hook up to a Bluetooth GPS receiver and after installing the necessary software you have yourself a sat-nav unit.
For entertainment there is the media player which is somewhere between adequate and good, no Bluetooth headphones though.
To store all your music, video and other data the Nokia E65 has a microSD slot capable of taking cards up to 2GB. The internal memory is only 50MB.
Located on the back is the basic, by todays standards, camera. 2 megapixels without autofocus or flash is only suitable for throw-away snapshots.
Overall
Overall a nice looking slider phone with nice features, especially the WiFi.
