The D600 is similar in appearance to the D500 with the same slide form, but the phone is thinner, slightly longer and wider. The keypad layout is retained with some small styling differences.
The slide form factor has proven to be popular. As with a clamshell, it enables a large screen to be placed within a relatively small phone design, and it has the advantage that many of the phones features are available on the front face. A gentle push will make the slide mechanism open and close to access to the keypad below. Durability doesnt seem to be a problem.
The camera has been uprated to 2 megapixels. The camera takes print-quality images and has a powerful 4x digital zoom, an LED flash, several shooting modes and an image editor. For a phone the video camera is high quality. A unusual and useful feature is a TV-out connection, so you can view your videos directly on a TV. The D600 also supports PicBridge for direct printing of images to compatible printers.

The D600 comes with an MP3 player with supportfor MP3, AAC and AAC+ formats. The MP3 player supports 3D sound to stereo loudspeakers. MP3 clips can also be used as ringtones instead of the 64-voice polyphonic MIDI tones.
The D600 is also Samsungs first quad-band phone and probably one of the best non 3G phones around.
